As Microsoft announces that Windows 8 will support the ARM architecture, this does not create a shock over the IT and manufacturing industry, rather its a repeating history of the similar Windows NT days that supports the PowerPC platform (ie. G3/G4).

Bye bye windows phone 7 ?

Aha, Windows phone 7 just launched not long ago, this is a very early indication that WP7 will meet its end when Windows 8 comes out with the support for the ARM compatible devices, such as the Snapdragon Dual Core processor for example. Microsoft states that a full fledged version of MS Office will just run fine on the processor as long Windows 8 is the Host OS.

Android, can your robots go against windows 8 ?

Yes, why not, Android stands and grow much faster than any new mobile OS on the market, besides that its highly easy to port to x86 platforms, and its open source, with the available 3rd party applications on the marketplace and its friendly interface and connectivity with Google related cloud apps, the Android will survive the Windows 8 wave. Don't forget about Gingerbread too :)

Symbian, Nokia's current flagship OS, can your flag wave higher ?

The Finnish manufacturer just will not stop developing hardware and grows its Symbian family OS, it will not lose out completely as Nokia keep its long relationship with ARM running. Symbian will stand as a simple yet good to go OS on their phone with OVI store and they better hope that more 3rd party application comes in. Branding no longer plays a role like nokia did 10 years ago that symbian was once king, OS rules not the branding anymore.

Maemo/Meego? to go or no go?

Another OS on the rise that meets Android side by side, jointly developed by Nokia and Intel, also known as the Moblin OS, not much story to tell on this, hope that it will develop further and better next round. Surprisingly this is the 1st OS that Rovio published Angry Birds together with Nokia N900.

How to create a custom ringtone for your iphone

This article will show you how to create and put in your own ringtones for any IPhones.

Find the song that you want to make into a ringtone.
If you want to only use part of the song, Right-click the song and select “Get Info.” Now Click the “Options” tab, and then edit the start time of your ringtone in the text box next to “Start Time” and “End Time” (if desired). Then click ok.
Right-click your song again and select “Convert Selection to AAC”. Wait for iTunes to convert your song. It will create a duplicate version.
Right click the duplicate and select “Show in windows explorer.”
Now leave that window open and go back to itunes, delete the duplicate, and select “keep files”
Go back to the folder we just left open and change the extension of the song you just duplicated to .m4r instead of .m4a.
Now Double-click the ringtone file. ITunes will automatically add it to your ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library.
Connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones.

Thats it....its simple

as the above title said, its part of our everyday life, but how much do u use everyday, how many phones do u carry?

As for me i carry alot, due to my job nature, but normal malaysians carry 2 per person, and data usage is seldom being used due to the rate of Pay As You Use is high compared to subscribed unlimited data rate plan. But for sure what i am seeing now is publicly most of us are using it more frequently on Facebook and Friendster social services.

Will that change most of the malaysian lifestyle?, i guess it will be still the same like going to mamak stall and meet up but definitely data services helps alot of people get connected and meeting more friends

Blue-Ray may never replace DVD for data

Even though Blu-ray player sales are on a rapid climb, and Sony’s new PS3 Slim and cheaper PlayStation 3 are expected to cause an explosion in Blu-ray penetration, market research company iSuppli says the drives haven’t even begun to break the PC market.

According to the firm’s tallies of the global PC market, only 3.6% of all computers shipped this year were equipped with Blu-ray drives, and the growth rate will remain low.

“BDs won’t be replacing DVDs as the primary optical drive in PC systems through at least the year 2013,” said Michael Yang, iSuppli’s Senior Analyst for storage and mobile memory. “They eventually will find success, but during the next five years, that success will be limited in the PC segment. The cost issue is amplified by the fact that the library of content is so small that there really isn’t a reason for users to switch at the moment, and while this is changing, and studios are rolling out more Blu-ray content every week, there remains a long way to go.”

By 2013, iSuppli predicts that BD drives will still only be installed in 16.3% of all PCs, at best.

ISuppli cites the succession of removable disc storage in PCs for the last 20 years. The 3.5″ floppy was eventually replaced by the CD-ROM because of the dramatic increase in storage, and the precipitously low price of distributing software on that format (remember the stacks of floppies you used to use when installing, say, Microsoft Office?). An operating system or large suite of programs which would take up numerous floppies (Windows NT 3.1, for example, took up 22 diskettes) could be put on a single CD-ROM.

Lower production costs were the principal driver for CD-ROM (CD-R, CD-RW) to be replaced by DVD (DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW). But now, as most software can still be contained in DVDs or as download packages, production costs have yet to be measured lower for the higher-capacity Blu-ray formats, and broadband has made Internet distribution not only cheaper but more expedient, there’s little motivation for anyone except for interactive movies and games to make the move.

My opinion : It is very true, DVD is still the best cheap and affordable medium as storage, another thing might impact is the rise of netbook where processor, RAM and HDD capacity is much lower and u will not be loading huge big application on to it, piracy impacts too where download to large HDD is an option to downloaders

Windows 7 - How Far Can all the Device go?

Windows 7, one of the upcoming operating system due to release on October 2009. The RTM or Release To Manufacturer version has been distributed around MSDN/AA channels as well as the Torrent links has given a very good feedback among users and developers, from the design of the OS and the usability and the reliability.

Oh well, how well can it go, how low can it go...
i will begin to focus on how can it go, on the professional version of windows 7 RTM and lets see will it work on machines lower than the OS requirement, stay tuned~!

I know its 5.30AM and i can't sleep, cause waiting for the download to finish, and i hope this version of Beta will perform more better than Vista and Windows XP hopefully. Early feedback from many forumers around saying this 7000build of windows 7 is good enough, hope its good enough for me, for a Dual Core PC with 4GB of RAM and Hybrid SLI
